Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to Get Married
California, here they come!
On the day the California Supreme Court overturned that state’s ban against gay marriage, Ellen DeGeneres announced on her talk show that her and longtime partner Portia de Rossi have plans to wed.
The former Academy Award host made the declaration during a taping of an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. It airs today.
De Rossi, who was in the studio, and DeGeneres received a standing ovation from the audience. Allow us to now join that crowd in congratulating these two love birds.
Conversely, allow us to extend condolences to Anne Heche. It’s been a rough week for Ellen’s ex. Her show, Men in Trees, got canceled; she then said she could not afford alimony payments to Coley Laffoon; and now this.
Of course, Heche is straight now. So maybe she wishes Ellen and Portia the best.
